I participated in my first surface design trade show this year at Surtex in New York City. I was part of a great group of artists, some who I was lucky to meet (pictured above Jookiku, me, Trosko Designs and Lemonni). It was a very busy 3 days but I learnt so much from buyers and other artists I was fortunate to meet. I'm looking forward to working with new buyers shortly!!
I was thrilled to be featured on the Make It In Design blog in the lead up to Surtex. You can read the blog post here...
So I have decided to attend Surtex as I know I will gain so much from being there in person meeting buyers, agents and other designers. Please come by Booth 3017 and say hello! I would love to meet you!
Very excited and grateful to be featured on the Print and Pattern blog! Head over and have a look at some of the amazing designers showing at the upcoming Blueprint and Surtex shows.
I have just completed the Make It In Design Ultimate Portfolio Builder course and it was fantastic! I learnt so much. I'll now be looking forward to summer camp to get my next course fix :)
My new collections will be available for licensing and purchasing through my agent, Nerida Hansen. The Nerida Hansen Print and Textiles booth is 3017 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center NYC.
I'm about to start the Make Art That Sells Children's Book Illustration Course and this is the prep in the lead up to the course starting #mymatsprep #makeartthatsells. Meet Minette!
I decided to join all 3 modules of the MIID Summer School 2016 and have just completed the first creative brief for each. It has really made me try new things and I had a lot of fun expanding my style. This is my favourite from the Beginner's Brief "French Riviera". #makeitindesign #summerschool2016 #escapefrenchriviera
Here is my journal cover for the final MATS Bootcamp assignment. I had fun practicing hand lettering and doing mock ups. It's fun seeing my designs on products!
I have just completed Modules 2 and 3 of the Make It In Design eCourses (I completed Module 1 late 2015) and have found them to be superb! Here is my typography testimonial for the courses.

The Make Art That Sells Bootcamp assignment for May was to design a tarot card corresponding to your birth month (in my case, June, which is The Chariot). Here is my take on it :)
I entered a rug design competition with Threadless. If you like it, then please click on the link below and vote! Many thanks!
Here is my completed assignment for the "Lumberjack Ornament" we were to design for the Make Art That Sells April assignment. There were so many interesting designs which you can see here in the April Gallery. http://makeartthatsells.com/galleries/mats-bootcamp-2016/april/
As a special feature, the MATS A course had a live review opportunity in conjunction with Uppercase Magazine to design a cover for the 2nd edition of the Surface Pattern Design Guide. This is the cover I submitted! How great would it be to have external wallpaper :) #makeartthatsells
